The annual flower parade 'Bloemencorso' will makes its traditional trek from Noordwijk to Haarlem, passing through Voorhout, Sassenheim, Lisse, Hillegom, Bennebroek and Heemstede. Dozens of floats and cars decked in flowers will pass by the hundreds of thousands of onlookers lining the 40-kilometre route.

This unrivalled event begins at the lighthouse in Noordwijk. Sometime around 15:00, the parade will pass through Lisse. And by 21:00, the floats will arrive at their final destination: the Gedempte Oude Gracht in Haarlem, where they will be parked under the lights for all to admire until 24:00. Flower lovers will have one last chance to see the floats on Sunday till 20:00 at the same location in Haarlem.

There are days one wishes for smell-o-vision on the internet! Delightful and refreshing after a hard New York winter (our Forsythia is just now out).

I missed you by a week in London--too bad. But the weather was great last week, too. We visited Kew Gardens, where the rhododendrons, azaleas and barberries were all in bloom, along with acres and acres of bluebells.
